In heavy or investment engineering production supplies, series or orders, production of which may last several months or even more than a year, are not exceptional. In such cases the annual planning horizon is too short. The tactical planning perspective and models of the future must be created in a multi-year form.

The high level of uniqueness of production generally makes it impossible to clearly determine the structure and the level of consumed inputs. Orders are often accepted without detailed calculations. And this is despite the fact that the high investment demands of the sector are absolutely clear at first sight.

Therefore, more than in other branch-specific solutions an emphasis should be placed on management and planning of production capacities – their right loading and balancing of orders. Order or, put in a better way, “multi-order” controlling occupies an important position.
